My group was unaware of a myth about Judas.
The question is referring to the myth that Judas wasn’t really a bad guy. He had only misunderstood Jesus’ intention. He thought that Jesus was dragging His feet setting up His kingdom and kicking the Romans out of Israel. He was trying to get Jesus to take the actions he thought needed to be taken. He was motivated purely out of political concerns, not selfish concerns.
Verse 6 makes it clear that Judas was a thief. He had a love of money that prompted him to steal from the common funds of the group. He wasn’t motivated by politics, he was motivated by greed.
